Post It Patent #1

For a long time, I used to keep a journal of all the ideas I had. From the absurd to the potentially brilliant. But I never have the time to do anything about them. Then I realised I could use a blog to give the ideas away for free. As well as describing them, I am including a  little Post It note picture to help show what my idea is. If you like it or want to discuss feel free to leave a comment.

I like the idea of electric cars. Clean efficient means of travel. While some companies have improved on the speed and range, there is still a major problem. They need to be plugged in every now and then to juice them up. The idea here is to provide a savonious type windmill to generate electricity and change the battery both while the car is moving and while it is stationary.

The windmill could be retrofitted to existing cars, or part of a new electric car design. In addition to allowing / assissting the car to charge when standing still it could also increase the range of the car. The Post It Patent below shows the basic idea.

The sides containing the windmill could also be opened  to improve air flow when the car isn’t moving, and closed to provide a directed path for air flow when in motion.

Magnetic thrust bearings would help to reduce the impact of the weight of the system, and the whole thing could be covered with a solar panel for additional electricity generation.
